Faulty Recall Notice Recalled
| |
The Stihl chainsaw corporation last night announced that they would be recalling
thousands of faulty recall notices as part of their ongoing commitment to
health and safety. "As soon as we knew the recall notice was faulty we acted to withdraw it from public use." annouced Lon Chainy, the corporation's official spokesman, "and even though the fault on the recall notice does not affect public safety directly, we thought it better to be safe than sorry'. The mistake, a spelling error in the word 'safety' was spotted by a sharp-eyed proofreader and immediately brought to the company's attention. It wasn't the first time that a recall notice has been recalled. In 1956 the Ford Motor corporation recalled a defective windscreen wiper notice which erronously told Ford owners to 'buy a Buick'.
