With a headroom of only 6', the famed "Low Bridge of Swindon" is truly the lowest of low bridges anywhere in the home counties. An attempt by Chippenham to beat Swindon's record by raising the roadway beneath their bridge has been disqualified by the Wessex Low Bridge Society.
