The Geraldus Cambrensis
Geraldus Cambrensis, or more often known as 'Gerald of Wales' was a 13th Century scholar who travelled a lot and, more importantly, wrote
about what he saw. He ended his days in a village near Brecon, hence having a Dormitoria named after him. The Dormitoria were originally large
blocks of Soviet style housing, but when I merged the action to take place solely in Talgarth, I reappraised the function and look of the Dormitoria to what I
found in Talgarth - this 13th Century tower. All the details about the Dormitoria changed to suit Bronllys Castle - which is what this is -
and although the Cambrensis in my book is about twice as broad and four times as high, the look is the same, and the notion of ancientness. Dormitoria have been the same for a very long time. I do not believe this tower had Radioisotope heating,
though.
That's enough pictures. Hope you liked the location scout.
