July 1999 Oxford, and location filming for Quills. This is Gary Ixer, one of the two stand-by propmen on the film, and second generation crew. His father was also a propman, who I worked with thirteen years before on Pirates of Penzance. Never mind all the directors, stars and what-have-you. Without Gary and the thousands of highly professional technicians like him, no film would ever get past day one.
