This could be one of those 'this is an ordinary object seen from an unusual angle' competitions, but it isn't. It's actually looking almost vertically down from 2000' on the moorland a few miles to the North of us. The marks you can see are all about 15' wide, and are controlled burn marks. You are permitted to burn small sections of moorland, but only strictly within boundaries to stop it getting out of hand - the broad lines are firebreaks, the darker sections burned land.
